Most people were never taught how money works.

That is the whole opportunity. Households need someone who can sit across the table and explain income protection, retirement income and legacy planning in language they actually use, patiently, and without a sales script.

This is where a licensed financial professional comes in. You become the trusted guide who turns confusion into clarity. You help families see their options, understand their choices, and take action with confidence.

What follows is a career where you have your own clients, working in your own schedule,

Turn Your Interest in Finance Into a Professional Opportunity

Flexible Schedule

You can start part-time or full-time and work to build your business around existing commitments. Flexibility depends on your circumstances, licensing requirements, and business demands.

Training and Licensing Support

Get guidance and study resources as you prepare for your insurance licensing exams. This support complements, rather than replaces, required pre-licensing education.

Mentorship Support

Learn alongside experienced agents and business leaders through guidance, observation, and practical activities. Mentorship can help you understand the business and develop your skills while taking responsibility for your own progress.

Ability to Build Your Team

Beyond working with clients, develop leadership skills and build a team. Building a team can extend your reach, and as it grows, so can your earning potential and the business you're building.

Pass the Licensing Exam

Schedule and take the applicable insurance licensing examination. Complete any required background checks and additional regulatory requirements.

Apply for Your License

Submit your license application, complete required agreements and compliance training, and work through carrier appointment requirements.

Independent, but Never Alone

While you work toward your license, I'll guide you through the process in your area.

Once you've earned it, I take you under my wing. We'll build your prospect list together, and I'll be there to coach you, answer your questions, and help you take each step with confidence.

I'm invested in your growth, and that's by design. When you succeed, I succeed, so my focus is on helping you build your business the right way.

You're also not relying on me alone. Our mother company (WFG) adds support through the Field Agent Support Team, a dedicated group that helps newly licensed agents during their first six months, along with conferences and online training.

Questions People Ask First

A licensed financial professional is authorized to perform specific regulated financial services activities within a defined jurisdiction, subject to the applicable license and regulatory requirements. Depending on your license and appointments, you may help clients explore financial and insurance products. The activities you can perform depend on your qualifications and authorization.

Previous experience may not be required for every entry pathway, but eligibility depends on the jurisdiction, licensing rules, and WFG’s current requirements. Training and mentorship can support your learning as you develop your knowledge. You should discuss the specific qualifications, responsibilities, and expectations with your sponsoring financial professional before enrolling.

The timeline varies depending on your jurisdiction, required education, examination scheduling, application processing, and other regulatory requirements. Your preparation and the relevant authorities’ processing times can affect the overall duration.

4. What costs are involved in getting started?

Potential costs may include registration, required education, examination fees, licensing applications, background checks, and other applicable business expenses. The actual costs depend on your location and current requirements.

You can begin part-time alongside other commitments, and the business offers flexibility. Still, studying for exams, completing training, and building a client base take consistent time. How much you can realistically do depends on your schedule.

Team building is one dimension of the opportunity. Where available, you can develop leadership skills and build a team over time. Team-related compensation follows the WFG compensation plan and is based on eligible production, not recruitment alone.
